Pirate Bay goes legit?!

Seems the anchor on the mighty dragonboat is stuck in some rocks. Rumor has it that a company called Global Gaming Factory bought the swedish Pirate Bay for the amount of $7.8 million. Is the Pirate Bay following the footsteps of Napster? Will we soon buy content and download it via TPB? Is it another classic prank? Is the name ‘Pirate Bay’ really worth 7.8 millions? Well, if you are the RIAA that amount is a droplet on the boiling stone if you consider how much cash they lose due to pirated media.
Earlier this year the owners of The Pirate Bay were sentenced to 1 year prison and a fine of 900’000 each. Their blog reads that profits from the sale will “go into a foundation that is going to help with projects about freedom of speech, freedom of information and the openess of the nets.”
So kids, remember: DON’T EVER START UP AN ILLEGAL FILESHARING HUB, GET SENTENCED TO SPEND ONE YEAR IN PRISON, PAY 900K IN DAMAGES AND THEN RAKE IN 7.8 MILLION DOLLARS.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DO THIS AT HOME
haha… well ironic isn’t it?
